Hearts and Flowers on Valentine's Day!!

 HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

I hope your day is filled with love and chocolate and flowers and all things lovey-dovey!

In the spirit of all things romantic, I have made a pretty, heart-shaped gift box... I left it on my desk so maybe when I wake up, it will be filled with goodies! (-:

The challenge this week at Kaboodle Doodles is
Hearts and Flowers!

We are so pleased to be sponsored by
Pink Cat Studios!
They have graciously supplied FIVE Pink Cat Studio Digis as our prize to offer to you, our loyal participants!!
We were generously offered our choice of several of their adorable images to work with.
I chose "Birds on a Wire" which you can pick up HERE at the Pink Cat Studio Digi Store!
For my project, I used an SVG file I received from Brianna at Bea Originals. I loved the idea behind this box and the way it opens at the top by separating the heart. I colored my image digitally with Paint.NET and duplicated it 4 times before printing to make one strip that wraps all the way around the box. Now that I'm looking at it, I wish I had embossed the side panels. But, I still love how it turned out and I hope it has inspired you in some way to come over and join our HEARTS and FLOWERS challenge at Kaboodle Doodles!!

Thank you to everyone who entered our "Ribbon Stash" challenge last week!
Your entries were lovely and it was fun to see all the different ways ribbons can be used!

The rules for entering our challenges are very simple!! But there are rules, in order to keep it fair for all our participants and for our generous sponsors!!

We are sponsored by wonderful and generous businesses who have kindly offered their products as prizes in our challenge.  In the interest of fairness to all challenge participants, all entries that do not follow our simple rules (please see the sidebar at the Challenge Blog) will be removed. Thanks for understanding and playing along!
Be sure to visit Kaboodle Doodles tomorrow to see the winner and top 3, chosen by our Design Team!
And speaking of our DT, be sure to stop over and show some love for all their lovely creations this week!
My fellow Kaboodle Doodles teamies:

Stacie (that's ME!!)
This project qualifies for a few challenges:
Digital Tuesday, Use a Die Cut (my entire project was cut on my Cricut, except my Pink Cat Studio digital image around the bottom
Cute Card Thursday, Hearts and Flowers- I hope this qualifies, since the name of the challenge at Kaboodle Doodles (my DT for this project) is exactly the same! (-:

By the way, on a side note, to all my regular visitors... You're probably wondering why it is that every time you come to visit, my blog looks different.
Bear with me!!
I'm trying to find a layout/background/theme I like... I'm really not entirely happy with this one yet, either, so it's a work in progress!
Thank you for visiting and I hope ya'll are having a SUPER Monday!!

Pollycraft Bold and Bright

Pollycraft Designs is having a super-fun challenge this week!

She is calling it "Flash Those Freebies" and

anyone who uses one of her previously posted freebies

will receive a Brand New, Never Released Freebie that is a SECRET!!

She is asking anyone who receives this SPECIAL RELEASE via email

to keep it a secret for a fun project yet to be announced!

My curiousity got the better of me and I HAD to participate!

The theme of the current challenge is BOLD AND BRIGHT!

I'm pretty sure I got that covered!

The image is (obviously) a Pollycraft Design Freebie.

Her name is Flo!

The paper is from a stack called Frutti Fusion from The Angel Company.

The flower stickies are from Colorbok.

I colored her with Zig markers (the brightest, boldest colors I could find).

Of course, I didn't realize the bottom strip of

background paper was crooked

until I took the picture!  {sigh}

Come on over to Pollycraft Designs and join in on the fun!

I can't wait to see what Paula comes up with next!

I have also entered this card at:

Red White and Blue Spring Card

Karen's Doodles Butterfly and Bee Spring Card

I would like to enter this

"Spring Up" Card

in the Karen's Doodles Challenge

"Red White and Blue"

Although not technically "Patriotic" for the 4th of July,

I loved this image and couldn't resist the color challenge.

I learned a new trick this week to "Pop" digi stamps!

I printed the butterfly twice, cut him out and pop dotted him!

Thank you to Donna Mundinger for the tip on this "trick"

I made the flowers from a tutorial Penny Duncan posted.

Although the flowers aren't her creation, she posted the link  to the YouTube video tutorial.

I saw this style card (called a "Spring up Card")  on Splitcoast Stampers.

I still do all my coloring in Colored Pencils, but Copics are absolutely on my wishlist...

For the butterfly's wings, I just dabbed a little water on the paper and swirled some blue into it.

I was trying for a "swirly" look, and I think I achieved that...

After going back and looking at this post, I realize that when you click on the picture, it brings up a H-U-G-E picture!

Not sure how to fix that, but I'll try to figure it out!

But, wow, the goofs sure show when it's enlarged from 5 1/2" to 8x10!  (-:

I think it looks WAY better in real life and at actual size...
