For Jayme

From Lisa at Stamped Art by Lisa C
I am having a special event for my sister Jayme. She is in her early 50's and has terminal lung cancer. To make it worse, her sweet dachshund Molly passed away a couple weeks ago. Today we learned her cancer has spread to several other areas and her time is running out. I am asking for all my card making friends to send her a fun card...not really get well cards obviously, but something pretty or funny that will make her smile. She is a frog collector so frog cards would be awesome!
I felt compelled to send a card to Jayme. I think anyone would after reading her story!

The inside reads: "Greetings! This little froggy has traveled all the way from North Carolina to see you today"

Here's the front of my card:

The little pack of maps was something I had from "Who-Knows-Where".

The stamp "A Happy Hello" came from The Angel Company in a pack I received from a blog-friend a few months ago.

The frog I chose, I created in Inkscape. I cut him out with SCAL and put him on a Pop-Up Card using the tutorial provided by Susan BlueRobot here.

The card base is glitter green paper I won from Joy's Life last week! (YAY for Me!!) She has the BEST give-a-ways!! Check out her new set of stamps! She's going to Give A Way a whole set!!

I'm just learning the art of stamping and the wonderful things that can be accomplished with an ink pad! WOW!! Fun Fun Fun!

I have always loved coloring and my mom still has some of the pictures I colored for her as a kid... Who knew as a mom, I'd get to do it all over again!?! (Hubby calls it "Just more stuff to buy"- what does HE know?)

Hang In There

This card was made for my sister-in-law, who has been having a few tough times lately!
The font is "Oh[Photo] Shoot".
I made the monkey and branch in SCAL using a coloring book page I found online.
Embossed the text with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots, then brushed with white ink.
Paper is from "Whimsy Blossoms" from The Angel Company.

The Pressure is On!

This week, my nine-year-old will be involved in his first "EOG's". That's short for "End of Grade" Exams.

The entire school year comes down to the next 3 days!

Pass or fail, we'll love him the same!

Here's the "Good Luck" card I made for him:

Used my Cri_Kits pens to draw the picture (using a free image I found on Google), used Kay's "09 Cutups Font" from Clever Someday for the scalloped square. It's the most amazing set of fonts for SCAL. You can download the set  HERE. The set includes every imaginable shape for cutting background shapes (scallops, squares, ovals, circles, even a pocket!). THANK YOU KAY FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK AND GENEROUSITY!

I can't remember where I got the rub-on "Good Luck" and the school themed "stickers". Guess ya'll can call that "from my stash"  (-:

Good luck AJ. We know you'll Rock the EOG!

Super Busy in Honor of National Scrapbook Day~

Wow! I've been very busy and quite motivated after all the creative things posted last Saturday for National Scrapbook Day. THANK YOU to all the wonderful crafters out there who have generously shared their time, talents and files. In the process, I have gotten pretty comfortable with Inkscape, which is a miracle, considering I've only been doing this a few months (got my Expression and SCAL for Christmas).

I made 2 "Teacher Appreciation" cards for my boys, a cute "Hello" card just because I loved the butterfly, a "Honey" of an Anniversary card for my sweetie (our 10th Anniversary is this week!), and a Mother's Day card that I'm pretty darn proud of!
