Kids Digi Day Challenge

We want to see the Kids play along!

My boys were just not "in the mood" to do anything crafty

and decided, since the sun is shining, that it's much more fun

to fry bugs with a magnifying glass!

What can I say? They're BOYS!  {{sigh}}

So, I made a project that will make the kids laugh!

I know my guys loved it!

I used the new Tot with 'Tude, Nosey Abby

Some of the girls on the Design Team came up with

some really terrific sentiments for this image.

Not to be outdone, I went a little over-the-top with this one.

But it IS funny!!

To me, it almost sounds Latin...

like you can hear the Catholic Priest saying:

"Pickem Lickem Rollem Flickem

In Nomine Patre et Fille et Spiritu Sancti"

AMEN!!

 I can't wait to see how many challenges I can enter with this one! (-:

I really hope I can convince my boys to play this weekend

in the craft area with me!

And if you have kids, I hope you'll take a few minutes to snap some pictures of their creations and post them in this weeks' challenge!

I used the new "Daisy with Flowers" digi for my project.

It is "supposed" to be a "Treat" holder, but my boys ate all the Reese's cups before I could get any for the picture!
This project was inspired by the YUMMIEST project, posted by Rhonda for our Latte Lounge Digi Day 'You're Special Too' Challenge. 

Here's a little close-up of Daisy and her flowers! I colored her with Paint.NET then printed her twice. I cut each of the flowers and separated and bent the petals so they would pop up. I also cut out her skirt, embossed it with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots. In the close-up you can see the pretty shimmer! I achieved that by using "Creative Inspirations" paint: Fairy Dust. You can get the Marvelous Paint at the Fresh Brewed Shop! For only $2.15 a jar, this stuff is awesome!! In the centers of the flowers, I used Glossy Accents. The pretty polka dotted paper: that is from JLJ Designs!! In the "Pretty Tough Pack"

I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils and traced the image in Inkscape to get the main shape for my mat and sentiment panel. The hair dryer and mirror were buried in my files, so I don't remember where I got them for sure!


This is also my project for the final challenge at The Latte Lounge: the Recipe.
1-image, 2-pieces of lace, and 3-shiny things...


The challenge at the Stamping Boutique runs 2 weeks

We had a good time last night at the Latte Lounge Digi Day

Here are some projects I made, that should inspire you (at least I hope so!)

Challenge 1: You're Special Too: Our theme of the night was Mom's and Other Special Women in Our Lives. The challenge was to create a card for YOURSELF! Either something you just wanted to make "just because" or something you'd like to receive. 
I decided that I want someone to send me an envelope full of money! So I made a money card. I used this Tutorial that is posted in the Tutorials Section of the Latte Lounge.

For my Fancy Fold, I went back to the Tutorials Section at the Latte Lounge. I found a great "Double Fancy Fold" and decided to give it a try. I LOVE this card and everything about it! I have since found out that this card style is called a "Joy Fold". This is my first attempt and I'm planning to do this again and again!
I used the "Dots" paper pack from JLJ Designs! And BOTH my images are from The Stamping Boutique: the sentiment and the image, called: Dilly Dally! What a Great title for an image!
Jen is hosting a Month Long Challenge at the Latte Lounge (see the pretty badge in my sidebar?) and any project made using any of her products can be entered to win real "in-the-mail" prizes!! I LOVE in-the-mail prizes and plan to enter as many times as I can!

Challenge 4: You'd Better Shape Up!: Make any shaped card. I think shaped cards are so much fun to make. Anything but a regular ole' rectangle, y'know?
I used a cut file from DtsArt with some Stampin' Up Sweet Treat Cups. This file will soon be available at the DieCut Designer Forum!

I got to use the Brand New Zoo-attitude Gorilla, which was inspired by Cindy-Lynn's trip to the zoo recently! All the new releases for May are now available at the store and there are a bunch of new, great images! I used a technique that was in the Splitcoast Stamper Newsletter a few weeks ago for my background. The leaves were made from a free vector file I found online, traced and cut with SCAL2.0 I colored the gorilla with Paint.NET.

My Triumphant Return!

Hooray! I'm back!! And I'm thrilled about it!!

Yesterday, I actually colored an image called "Scooter Surfing" from Fresh Brewed Designs and it was so great to put those pencils on the paper!

To be honest, now that I'm looking at it,

I'm not too keen on the stars paper.

It seemed like a good idea at the time...
And yes, I KNOW I cut the little side panel about 1/8" too short...
but it was from my scrap bin and couldn't find
any other red, white and blue papers
at the time!
I didn't actually CUT it short,
I glued it down wrong on the red mat! DER!!

Even tho I was only "out" for a little more than a week, 

I feel like I'm a YEAR behind!!

I decided that creating a card for 

the Fresh Brewed Designs 

Red, White and Blue Challenge 

was a great place to get started!

Not only does this card fit in Challenge 47,
