I Just Couldn't "Resist"

When I saw the new challenge for the

Fresh Brewed Designs Challenge Blog

is going to be 

"For the Guys"

I HAD to try out this new technique!

It's not a new technique,

but it's new to ME!!

It's called "Emboss Resist"

I stamped my image

"Caution Contents are Hot"

from Fresh Brewed Designs,

and my sentiment from the 

Let's Communicate Collection from Amber Ink,

with Versamark ink and heat embossed it 

with clear embossing powder.

After it cooled, I sponged blue, green and purple ink

over the entire surface of my card stock

then wiped the ink off the embossed image.

LOVE IT!!

Not bad for a first attempt, if I do say so myself!

What guy could possibly refuse THAT invitation?

Kids Digi Day Challenge

We want to see the Kids play along!

My boys were just not "in the mood" to do anything crafty

and decided, since the sun is shining, that it's much more fun

to fry bugs with a magnifying glass!

What can I say? They're BOYS!  {{sigh}}

So, I made a project that will make the kids laugh!

I know my guys loved it!

I used the new Tot with 'Tude, Nosey Abby

Some of the girls on the Design Team came up with

some really terrific sentiments for this image.

Not to be outdone, I went a little over-the-top with this one.

But it IS funny!!

To me, it almost sounds Latin...

like you can hear the Catholic Priest saying:

"Pickem Lickem Rollem Flickem

In Nomine Patre et Fille et Spiritu Sancti"

AMEN!!

 I can't wait to see how many challenges I can enter with this one! (-:

I really hope I can convince my boys to play this weekend

in the craft area with me!

And if you have kids, I hope you'll take a few minutes to snap some pictures of their creations and post them in this weeks' challenge!

I used the new "Daisy with Flowers" digi for my project.

It is "supposed" to be a "Treat" holder, but my boys ate all the Reese's cups before I could get any for the picture!
This project was inspired by the YUMMIEST project, posted by Rhonda for our Latte Lounge Digi Day 'You're Special Too' Challenge. 

Here's a little close-up of Daisy and her flowers! I colored her with Paint.NET then printed her twice. I cut each of the flowers and separated and bent the petals so they would pop up. I also cut out her skirt, embossed it with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots. In the close-up you can see the pretty shimmer! I achieved that by using "Creative Inspirations" paint: Fairy Dust. You can get the Marvelous Paint at the Fresh Brewed Shop! For only $2.15 a jar, this stuff is awesome!! In the centers of the flowers, I used Glossy Accents. The pretty polka dotted paper: that is from JLJ Designs!! In the "Pretty Tough Pack"

Today is a "Hooray" Day!


The new challenge has started at

We are asking to see your


RED WHITE and BLUE


But we wanted to show you that not every card using those colors has to be Patriotic. 


Red White and Blue can make a very nice combo when used together!

She's feeling the love today!


I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils and traced the image in Inkscape to get the main shape for my mat and sentiment panel. The hair dryer and mirror were buried in my files, so I don't remember where I got them for sure!


This is also my project for the final challenge at The Latte Lounge: the Recipe.
1-image, 2-pieces of lace, and 3-shiny things...


The challenge at the Stamping Boutique runs 2 weeks
and there is only ONE more day to enter the Latte Lounge Digi Day challenges!
