Have you ever HEARD an image?

Have you ever seen an image that just SPEAKS to you?
One that takes your breath away and brings tears to your eyes?

If you have, you know how I felt when I saw this image:
As soon as I saw "Forgiven", I just knew that image had been drawn for me!

Typically, I would not call myself a "religious" person, and I have my own kind of relationship with God. I don't technically participate in any "organized" religions and it's been awhile since I've been to Church. I was baptized Roman Catholic and have gone thru all the "Sacraments": First Communion, Confirmation, Marriage, etc. and I attended Catholic schools my whole life... but I also think that many Churches have fallen prey to greed and fear-mongering, which does not appeal to me in any way.

But this image, and it's message, prompted a quick and intense reaction in me. Heather has released an entire new set of Religious/Easter images that are sure to touch you to the soul!

They placed the crown on his head to mock him. Called him a king and gave him his crown. A crown our king wore to save us from our sins, to show us how much he loved us. They did not gently place this crown on his head. It was  covered in many sharp thorns and they just shoved it on his head ripping his skin, flesh, he bled. It was a symbol of what he went through for us and how much he loved us.
As soon as I received it in my inbox, I got to work!

I made the sunburst background with Inkscape, created the cross in SCAL and that's it! I "painted" the nails with Mod Podge" just to give them a little gloss.

The message, to me, is very clean and simple. Can you hear it?

I would like to share this card with the Crazy 4 Challenges sketch challenge this week.
I adopted a very clean and simple variation of their sketch!

Goth 'Tween with Attitude!

Look who’s back!
Yep, Digi’s with Attitude is roaring back
onto the Challenge Blog scene!
And guess who is back on the Design Team!
ME!!
We are so excited to announce that today is the beginning of our first challenge since our short break!
And our Brand New Design Team has been announced!
You’ll HAVE to stop over to the Digi’s With Attitude! Challenge Blog
to see all the creations our new Team has made to inspire you!
It’s a great challenge, too!
We're celebrating our return with everyone's favorite:
And the prize for this magnificent occasion?
A $10 Gift Certificate from Digi’s With Attitude!

Here is a picture of my project:

I used one of my favorite ‘Tweens with Attitude called “Goth Tween”
You can snag her at the shop HERE
I colored her digitally with Paint.NET  then tried something a little different. When I printed on white paper, the color lost a lot of its depth, so I printed her on pink card stock... I'm happy with the end result... the colors really seem to stand out much better than on the white paper... maybe it's just time for an ink refill?
The swirly background (black) is an SVG from SVGCuts.com that I cut on my Cricut. I cut it again to make a window out of the purple paper, then embossed the inside of the purple with "Diamonds" from Sizzix.
The black fibers and silver goth looking ribbon are goodies my friend Jennifer sent me last Halloween! So, thank you, Jen! They were a perfect fit for this little lady!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
The Latte Lounge: Window Card
The Crazy Challenge, Sweet Teens
The Paper Variety, 1-2-3 Recipe: My recipe: 1 image, 2 colors (black and purple) and 3 ribbons

Paper Playtime, Digi Monday, Anything Goes: This week one of the sponsors for this challenge is Digi's With Attitude!
Creatalicious: Two Tone/colors: my two colors are black and purple.
