It's Wednesday! That means it's Fresh Brewed Designs Day on my blog!
This project was inspired by the YUMMIEST project, posted by Rhonda for our Latte Lounge Digi Day 'You're Special Too' Challenge.
24 May 2011
The new challenge has started at
The Stamping Boutique.
We are asking to see your
RED WHITE and BLUE
But we wanted to show you that not every card using those colors has to be Patriotic.
Red White and Blue can make a very nice combo when used together!
See Princess Jennifer Latte?
She's feeling the love today!
I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils and traced the image in Inkscape to get the main shape for my mat and sentiment panel. The hair dryer and mirror were buried in my files, so I don't remember where I got them for sure!
This is also my project for the final challenge at The Latte Lounge: the Recipe.
1-image, 2-pieces of lace, and 3-shiny things...
The challenge at the Stamping Boutique runs 2 weeks
and there is only ONE more day to enter the Latte Lounge Digi Day challenges!
Either way, the winner will get images from the Stamping Boutique Store...
Let's see your Red, White and Blue!!

We had a good time last night at the Latte Lounge Digi Day
and had a chance to grab some AWESOME freebies!
We were a pretty small group, and if you weren't there, you missed a good time!
We played some fun games and got to know some new friends!!
We also posted 4 new challenges!
They are all listed at top of the Digi Day Group Page.
We have THE most generous sponsors and this week,
they have offered some TERRIFIC prizes!!
All 4 challenges will be open til THIS WEDNESDAY at midnight!
Please take a minute to enter your cards in our challenges!!
We HATE to send messages to our sponsors that no one wanted their prize!!
SOMEONE has to claim them!! It should be YOU!!
Here are some projects I made, that should inspire you (at least I hope so!)
Challenge 1: You're Special Too: Our theme of the night was Mom's and Other Special Women in Our Lives. The challenge was to create a card for YOURSELF! Either something you just wanted to make "just because" or something you'd like to receive.
I decided that I want someone to send me an envelope full of money! So I made a money card. I used this Tutorial that is posted in the Tutorials Section of the Latte Lounge.
The image I chose is called "Lazy Cynthia" and she's available at The Stamping Boutique. Our sponsor for this challenge is Fresh Brewed Designs! With a chance to win THREE great images, it's definitely worth your time to post any sort of project that makes YOU feel special!!
Challenge 2: Recipe Challenge: 1 image, 2 pieces of lace and 3 shiny things. I'm going to hold off posting this card til later this week! This challenge is being sponsored by In a Scrap Creations and you have a chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate. Yes! You read that correctly: TEN DOLLARS!! WOW! I told you we have some great sponsors!
Challenge 3: Fancy Fold: there are so many creative ways to fold paper, and there are tutorials all over the internet. This challenge is definitely worth jumping in to! You KNOW you've wanted to try that fancy fold, right? Well, now is the time to give it a shot. Stampin' with Brenda has sponsored this challenge and has offered a One-Month Membership to The Paper Society! If you haven't seen this club, I can tell you this is a GENEROUS prize: worth $30, yes THIRTY dollars!!
What do you get for your membership?
- Member-Only technique tutorials, video tutorials, templates, and more available 24x7! Only members of The Paper Society receive these!
- Free Stampin’ Up Catalogs! That’s at least 6 catalogs sent to you all year long.
- No more keeping track of sales on your Customer Reward Card. I do it for you!
- Knowledge enabling you to do more with the tools and supplies you already own.
- PLUS you will receive unexpected surprises exclusively for The Paper Society members.
I used the "Dots" paper pack from JLJ Designs! And BOTH my images are from The Stamping Boutique: the sentiment and the image, called: Dilly Dally! What a Great title for an image!
Jen is hosting a Month Long Challenge at the Latte Lounge (see the pretty badge in my sidebar?) and any project made using any of her products can be entered to win real "in-the-mail" prizes!! I LOVE in-the-mail prizes and plan to enter as many times as I can!
Challenge 4: You'd Better Shape Up!: Make any shaped card. I think shaped cards are so much fun to make. Anything but a regular ole' rectangle, y'know?
I used a cut file from DtsArt with some Stampin' Up Sweet Treat Cups. This file will soon be available at the DieCut Designer Forum!
The sentiment inside my card is from The Stamping Boutique, who sponsored this challenge! If you enter this challenge and win the TWO images, good luck making your choices!! There are SO MANY awesome TSB images to choose from, narrowing it down to just TWO could be a whole new project!
May YOUR day
be filled with SUNSHINE!
I hope you have seen something that has inspired you to jump in and start creating!
All you have to do to enter our challenges at the Latte Lounge is Become a Member and go to the May Digi Day GROUP!

and ONE Other color
I got to use the Brand New Zoo-attitude Gorilla, which was inspired by Cindy-Lynn's trip to the zoo recently! All the new releases for May are now available at the store and there are a bunch of new, great images! I used a technique that was in the Splitcoast Stamper Newsletter a few weeks ago for my background. The leaves were made from a free vector file I found online, traced and cut with SCAL2.0 I colored the gorilla with Paint.NET.

And yes, I KNOW I cut the little side panel about 1/8" too short...
but it was from my scrap bin and couldn't find
any other red, white and blue papers
at the time!
I didn't actually CUT it short,
I glued it down wrong on the red mat! DER!!
