Up Up and Away!! Kaboodle Doodles Challenge #56

The challenge this week at the Kaboodle Doodles Blog is a unique recipe:

3 DP's, 2 Solids and 1 embellishment
Our sponsor this week is

They provided us with terrific samples to work with. I chose the "Hot Air Balloon".

Using Inkscape, I created an SVG file from the image in order to cut all the balloon panels. Cut it in 3 papers and pieced it together!
I chose 3 papers from a Colorbok pack I picked up at Walmart for $5. Love those bargains!!
Obviously, my two solids are orange and white.
One simple little orange bow and it's ready to go!

This is one of those cards that can be suitable for almost any occasion, so I haven't added a sentiment, yet!

I'm sorry I can't share my SVG file, because it's not my image to share!
But you can pick it up at the Gingerloft Store.
They have generously provided a prize for this challenge!
If you choose to play along, you can win your choice of any THREE images from their store!
This challenge was definitely one I had to put some thought into and hopefully, you'll give it a shot! Using only one embellishment is harder than you think!!
You'll have to stop over at the Kaboodle Doodles Blog and see all the creations our team "cooked up" with this recipe!!

Wishful Thinking with Beach 'Tween

Allow me to introduce "Beach 'Tween".
She is the newest in the line of 'Tweens at the
Digis With Attitude! Shop.

She's partying it up at her new home in the DWA! store with her new BFF: 'Video Gamer 'Tween"... I think she's sending this card to her!
She's obviously been spending a little too much time daydreaming in the sun, and not enough time applying sunscreen! (yes, she is "pink" on purpose!)

While you're on your shopping spree to pick up these two little cuties, make sure you pick up this month's freebie: "Shopping 'Tween" before she's gone!

Our Challenge this week at the Digis With Attitude Challenge Blog is:
Your project must reflect where you wish YOU were right now!

Our sponsor this week is:

Winners (one for every 25 entries) will receive

Is kindly offering 2 Digi Sets to our winner!
It is not required you use a Digi's With Attitude! image however,
we always love to see what you do with our stamps *wink*

For my project this week, I used Digi Papers from Bearly Mine Designs and followed a sketch from Happy Monday Challenge

The postcard is from Stampin Dragon Designs.

Ready for the Rubbah Release from Fresh Brewed

Oh Yes! There are only SIX more days til the new Fresh Brewed Designs Rubber Stamps will be released! I've been lucky enough to see a few sneaky peakies and Oh My Goodness!! We are having a Release Blog Hop March 1st that you won't want to miss!
enabler alert!!! If you join us for our Rubber Release Blog Hop next Tuesday, be prepared to break out the Visa... after you see how absolutely adorable the new "Cutie Pies" are, you'll have no choice but to run over and buy them!
Consider yourself warned!!

This week, in order to set the tone, I have used one of the Digital Cutie Pies for my project!

The challenge this week at the Fresh Brewed Challenges Blog is:

Ribbons and Bows

Our team has put together some amazing samples for you this week! Make sure you pop in and give them a little love!

And to those on the team this week who are not well, my thoughts are with you! I'm "Sending All My Love"!!

This card was pretty fun to make!
I used a tutorial I found on Splitcoast Stampers for a "Sliding Pop Up Card". Here is the link to that tutorial!
This is what the card looks like "closed".
When you pull the little pink tab, the bottom slides out with the message and the top panel pops up... pretty cool, I think!
I used digital printable papers from JLJ Designs, called 'Pink and Chocolate". This was a special pack, designed for Stitchy Stamps first birthday!
Jen has a marvelous variety of papers on her shop, in fact she has one pack that includes a whole set of papers for every season! Fantastic!!

So, with all that covered, it's time for you to get to work on your "Ribbons and Bows" project for this week's Fresh Brewed Challenge!
Now, remember, this challenge is only for fun, but if you want a chance to win a Fresh Brewed Designs red rubber stamp, there's still time to play in the Monthly Prize Challenge!
And if you want to win one of the Brand New rubber stamps that are not even on the market til next week, it's pretty easy. Just grab the badge at the top of my sidebar, link it to the Fresh Brewed Challenge Blog and send Heather an email to let her know you've posted it! She will enter your name into a drawing for a Brand New rubber stamp!!

DtsArt Spring Project Challenge

Now lookie here!
Isn't that the CUTEST little Red Bird ya ever did see?
She was a Tuesday Takeout from DtsArt back in December and I love her!

Originally, she was a "he", but I used one of the bows from Dardi's Tu Tu Monkey and he became a "she"!
The branch is from My Cricut Scrapbooking
The flowers are from a dingbat font called 4YEOVAL
The sentiment font is "Kwekel" from Free Scrapbook Fonts
The cloud was cut by hand and inked blue using
a scalloped stencil, same as the background.
The cloud is popped on one pop-dot just for a little depth!
A little sparkle for the eyes and wings, a doodle or two, a punched blue strip, some pink half-pearls for flower centers, and a blue plaid ribbon...
that's about it!

As part of our The Stamping Boutique Design Team Spring Fever Blog Hop,
Dardi has decided to sponsor a challenge of her own and this is my submission for that challenge!

And guess what!!
Just for playing, I get a prize!!
And YOU can too!
Hello Spring
Everyone who enters the challenge gets this adorable image!

And there are all kinds of other goodies up for grabs for the lucky winner!!

So, get your Spring projects loaded up and head on over to

I am so happy with how this little guy/gal turned out, I just had to enter it into the "Res-Q Challenge", Don't be S.A.D.... how cheerful and bright Red Bird is! Perfect to dispel the Winter Blahs and think about the coming of Spring!

Breaking Traditions with Kaboodle Doodles

The challenge at Kaboodle Doodles this week is:
Non-Traditional Folds
We would like to see cards with different or unique folds...
not your "traditional" shape!

We are sponsored this week by Wink Wink Ink
who have generously offered the most amazing prize:
$15! That's three stamps/ sets
from their store.
I chose to make a Triangle Tri-fold Card!
You can find a really simple tutorial at the Scor Pal site HERE
I used the "Happy Day" image, which was already colored!
All I had to do was print and put it on my card... took less than 5 minutes for the whole project! I love simple and easy some days!
Here is the inside of my card, when it's open:
The inside sentiment reads: "Hope your day blooms with delight", from MFT clear stamps.
With all the unusual fold tutorials available now, this should be a fun challenge to try... maybe you've never done an easel card or are just dying to try to Triangle Tri-fold... Go for it! It's easier than you think!!
And the Wink Wink Ink Prize is definitely worth playing for!!
Pop on over to Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Blog and give it a shot!

Hippity Hopping into Spring!

I am so pleased you have stopped in to visit today!
If you are following the Stamping Boutique "Spring Fever" blog hop, you should have gotten here from Sara's Blog!
Are you having fun hopping with all my friends?

If you missed the beginning of the hop and need to start at the beginning, pop in and give Amanda some love... she's the first stop!

We are hosting a "Spring Fever" blog hop this weekend! We're all sick of the snow and would love a little sunshine and flowers to pop in so we decided to bring them on ourselves! And bring it we did!

You'll have to make sure you hop to every blog along the way and
make sure you comment on EACH blog to be eligible for the prize:
4 brand new spring images from The Stamping Boutique!
And if you've been paying attention while hopping, you've seen at least one example of every one of those 4 images today! Aren't they AMAZING?!?

At the last stop of the hop, you'll land at The Stamping Boutique!
There will be an Inlinkz where you can post your comment after you have completed hopping! From this list, the winner will be chosen randomly!

The hop will run from Saturday, February 19th 12AM EST until Sunday, February 20th 6PM EST. After that time, the comments will be tallied and the winner will be randomly picked. Good luck... whoever wins is going to LOVE LOVE LOVE the new images Tracey has drawn!! Perfect to dispel the Winter Blahs!!

I consider it a privilege to work with the ladies on the Stamping Boutique Team! Tracey and Christy have truly created a masterpiece putting this team together!

One of our secret weapons is our Blog Coordinator: Amanda!
Among her many talents, she is a skilled sketch artist!
She created the sketch we are using for this Blog Hop:
The most amazing thing about a sketch is that 23 people on our team used the SAME design and have come up with 23 completely different interpretations of it, using the same 4 images!!!

Here is mine:

I used the "Picket Fence" image!
I had a blast making this card... somehow it's therapeutic to take a perfectly good piece of paper and ripping it to shreds!
The paper is actually from a set of Digi Papers from Bearly Mine Designs, printed on plain cardstock.
I distressed all the edges with scissors and added Tim Holtz Walnut Stain.
The vines are Penny Duncan files cut on my Cricut.

I am just so happy to be a part of this hop and I hope you're enjoying yourself as much as we are!!

Your next stop is Suzi's Blog... knowing the Manic Msr. Weyremaster, you're in for a real treat!

Don't forget to leave me a little love so you can have a chance to win those FOUR images!!!

If you happen to need a break, here is the list of everyone who is hopping today:
Stacie  YOU ARE HERE!!!

Happy Hopping!!

Housecleaning is not my specialty!

Our challenge theme this week at Digis With Attitude! is:
Anything to do with Cleaning!

Well, my husband and I run a cleaning business, so I thought this would be a walk in the park!

But do you ever really give a person a cleaning-related card?

As you'll see at the Challenge Blog, there are lots of ways to interpret this, and yes, as a matter of fact, we did all figure out a way to give out a "Cleaning" card!

You'll have to go over to the challenge blog today and check out the work of the rest of the team! As always, they are inspired!!

So! That's our challenge to YOU this week...
figure out a way to make a card that has "Anything to do with Cleaning
and post it for a chance to win

2 digi paper packs from our generous sponsor, Robyn's Fetish!

We were lucky enough to get this paper pack from our sponsor and I used it as a digital pattern fill for my image's headband. This is a fun and easy way to do paper piecing without all the mind-numbing fussy cutting... since my last birthday, I'm finding that focusing too closely on small objects for an extended period of time is not such a good idea, so using my big PC monitor to do my coloring and filling is much more ergonomic!
And printing digi papers is just as easy... I used the same paper for my background and punched a few flowers out it for my flower in the corner...
I am totally in love with the entire digital phenomenon and all its versatility and possibilities!!!

This week at the Digis With Attitude! Shop, there are two brand new 'Tweens with 'Tude! joining our growing family:
Vacuuming Tween
Skateboarding Tween
Plus, our Monthly freebie, Shopping 'Tween is still available!

Shopping 'Tween
I sure do hope you'll get a chance to really challenge yourself this week and try, try, try to come up with a card about CLEANING!!

Something Looks Sketchy to Me at Fresh Brewed today!

With all the pink and red cards we've been cranking out for Valentine's Day, I just had to do one more!

This little cutie is actually an anytime card!

I used "Some Bunny Loves You" from the
Fresh Brewed Designs Shop.

You can find him in the Under $3 section!!

I can't believe how many stamps are available at the Fresh Brewed Shop!
I actually had to scroll to the THIRD page in the $3 section to find this one!!

Our challenge this week at the Fresh Brewed Challenge Blog is to use this sketch!

You can flip it, flop it or, as Heather has said "Floop it", whatever that is...
But as long as we can see the sketch elements, you're good to go!!

Why not give it a try?
I had fun with it!!

Remember, this week's challenge is just for fun!

Hearts and Flowers on Valentine's Day!!

I hope your day is filled with love and chocolate and flowers and all things lovey-dovey!

In the spirit of all things romantic, I have made a pretty, heart-shaped gift box... I left it on my desk so maybe when I wake up, it will be filled with goodies! (-:

The challenge this week at Kaboodle Doodles is
Hearts and Flowers!

We are so pleased to be sponsored by
Pink Cat Studios!
They have graciously supplied FIVE Pink Cat Studio Digis as our prize to offer to you, our loyal participants!!
We were generously offered our choice of several of their adorable images to work with.
I chose "Birds on a Wire" which you can pick up HERE at the Pink Cat Studio Digi Store!
For my project, I used an SVG file I received from Brianna at Bea Originals. I loved the idea behind this box and the way it opens at the top by separating the heart. I colored my image digitally with Paint.NET and duplicated it 4 times before printing to make one strip that wraps all the way around the box. Now that I'm looking at it, I wish I had embossed the side panels. But, I still love how it turned out and I hope it has inspired you in some way to come over and join our HEARTS and FLOWERS challenge at Kaboodle Doodles!!

Thank you to everyone who entered our "Ribbon Stash" challenge last week!
Your entries were lovely and it was fun to see all the different ways ribbons can be used!

The rules for entering our challenges are very simple!! But there are rules, in order to keep it fair for all our participants and for our generous sponsors!!

We are sponsored by wonderful and generous businesses who have kindly offered their products as prizes in our challenge.  In the interest of fairness to all challenge participants, all entries that do not follow our simple rules (please see the sidebar at the Challenge Blog) will be removed. Thanks for understanding and playing along!
Be sure to visit Kaboodle Doodles tomorrow to see the winner and top 3, chosen by our Design Team!
And speaking of our DT, be sure to stop over and show some love for all their lovely creations this week!
My fellow Kaboodle Doodles teamies:

Stacie (that's ME!!)
This project qualifies for a few challenges:
Digital Tuesday, Use a Die Cut (my entire project was cut on my Cricut, except my Pink Cat Studio digital image around the bottom
Cute Card Thursday, Hearts and Flowers- I hope this qualifies, since the name of the challenge at Kaboodle Doodles (my DT for this project) is exactly the same! (-:

By the way, on a side note, to all my regular visitors... You're probably wondering why it is that every time you come to visit, my blog looks different.
Bear with me!!
I'm trying to find a layout/background/theme I like... I'm really not entirely happy with this one yet, either, so it's a work in progress!
Thank you for visiting and I hope ya'll are having a SUPER Monday!!

Sunday Sketch and Stamp

The challenge this week at Sunday Sketch and Stamp is "No Corners- Round and Oval shapes"... the challenge is being sponsored by The Stamping Boutique this week! There are tons of great images to choose from that you could use for this challenge.
For my project, I chose to work with TWO images:
the "Map" and the "Lantern".
I loved the rustic look of the two of them together. I used Paint.NET to color and layer them together...

The compass is from the SVG file I shared the other day. The Cricut has been working overtime this week.

In the picture, it looks like the sentiment is crooked, but it really is straight... the round card kept rolling while I was trying to take it's picture...

There's a lot going on this week, so I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

12 February 2011

Happy Birthday Mom!

I am having a BALL this week!
I have broke out the Cricut more this week than I've had a chance to do in months!!!

I found a "Survivor" logo online and used it to trace out my "modified" version in Inkscape. I broke out the torch the guy is usually holding and replaced it with a little cake...Then I imported it into MTC to cut it out.

Wrapped around a little band of twine for that rough, exotic island feel, layered it all together and printed the sentiment inside! Long set up, but easy assembly, now that the file is made!

There is a FREE font I found online called "Survivor font" that I used for all the words... anyone who watches Survivor will probably recognize my "alteration" of the Survivor tagline ("Out Play, Out Wit, Out Last") Well, since my mom is turning 62 and always makes a point of sending cards about how "old" I'm getting, I made all the words past tense

She'll get it! And I think she'll find it amusing! She's a Survivor junkie like me and we're just waiting for Redemption Island to get started!

Here is the inside.

If you want the "Survivor Modified Logo" file, let me know and I'll zip it up and share it!

Have a great weekend!

Pop Star 'Tweens Have Arrived

Digis With Attitude! Camping 'Tween

The newest Digis With Attitude! 'Tweens have arrived!!

Our very first BOY 'tween, Bieber Boy is rocking out with Britney this week and you can pick them up in the store today!

And our monthly freebie is Shopping 'Tween!

Pop over HERE and grab her today!!

In fact, it would a great time to pick up a Digis With Attitude! FREEBIE and play along in our challenge this week!

It's a challenging one, that's for sure!!

We're looking for a "how you do it" challenge... and what we want to know is:

Originally, the challenge was "Make it 'Poofy' " but after some discussion with our neighbors across the pond, we figured that wasn't exactly what we were looking for!
Does anyone know what it means in Europe to call someone "poofy"?
THAT is not the challenge!!

The challenge is to make it PUFFY! Y'know, fluffy... airy... cushy... but not poofy!

We are so happy to be sponsored by
Stamping Dragon Designs
this week!

And they have generously offered the winner a
$10 Shopping Spree at their store!!

WOW! That is a GREAT prize... worth playing for!!

For my project, I used "Camping 'Tween" and digital papers from Stamping Dragon Designs that I distressed using plain 'ole scissors!

I followed a sketch from the Sketch n Stash Challenge #54
If you follow me, you may recognize the swirls in the corners.
I shared the SVG file for them the other day.

For this project, I cut them in white and used Pearl Ex Copper to color them. It's tough to see from the photo, but the coppery shimmer looks pretty cool up close!

For the "Puffy" part, I used a product I found in the kid's crafting section at Walmart called "Puffy Paint"... it is designed to paint on clothes, I guess, but it worked out just fine here! I used yellow puffy paint for the fire, white for the marshmallow and purple for her sweater!
There are also 10 layers to this card! Then the image is cut and mounted on pop dots...

That's as puffy as I can get!

Can't wait to see how YOU make it puffy!
Come over and play to win $10 from Stamping Dragon Designs!!

Digis With Attitude! Challenge #17
